Today is really a momentous day for all of us in Federation. History has been created by our valiant soldiers of Punjab unit. During their visit of Jammu yesterday they were able to convince Com. Anil Sotra who had been the leader of BEFI union so long to join the mainstream of Bank employees movement, AIBEA. Along with Com. Anil, thirteen (13) comrades from different branches of Jammu have joined our organization. We warmly welcome all of our dear brothers and sisters of Jammu & Kashmir in the majority workman union of UCO BANK. We profusely thank Com Anil Sotra for taking this wise decision to join the majority and mainstream trade union of the banking industry and our bank too.

Hence after due discussions and deliberations, it has been decided to launch our agitational programme culminating in 2 Days Continuous Strike for 48 Hours on 24th and 25th March, 2025 on the following issues and demands.

We all are well aware that the recent judgment by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 7708 of 2014 & Ors. has reaffirmed the classification of certain employee benefits, such as interest-free or concessional loans, as taxable perquisites under Section 17(2) (viii) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, read with Rule 3(7) (i) of the Income Tax Rules, 1962. This judicial directive has profound implications for employees across the banking industry, including our Bank, where similar benefits are extended

The present Government is always fond of boasting that in their regime there would be ‘more governance and less government’. During the Gyan Sangam held at Pune on 2nd and 3rd January 2015, the Prime Minister had said that “Banks would be run professionally, and there would be no interference”. It was also decided that the Bank’s Board should be given full autonomy on HR decisions.

Since the introduction of Finacle 10 (migration from Finacle 7) our employees are experiencing innumerable problems while rendering customer service sitting in the front counter. They are facing inordinate delay and facing some chronic issues while working on a system which is grossly affecting instant customer services. This at large is affecting Bank business and growth. The problems started to pour in and everyday throughout India all our Union whats app groups were full with narratives of such finacle related problems from our members.

Members are aware that 7th Promotion Policy Agreement Signed on 28/07/2022 was overdue for review and accordingly at the invitation of the Management, Policy committee was held on 9th September, 2024 between our AIUCBEF & the Management and exchanged views on amendments needed to be made in the Policy.
In continuation to the above meeting, discussions were resumed on 4th November ,2024.
While most provisions are required to be retained without any changes the undermentioned changes were mutualised in the meeting

The captioned issue regarding problems of employees in Delhi working NCR branches was raised by us long back and the matter was discussed in our Apex level GR meeting held on 19th December 2023. Subsequent to that meeting an advisory was sent to New Delhi Zonal Office in March 2024 pertaining to the issues and the problems faced by the employees of Delhi NCR directing them to proactively approach the pending issues of employees particularly that of request transfer, postings, salary and release of increment etc.

UFBU CIRCULAR No. 7 dated 26-8-2024 When we signed the wage revision Settlement/Joint Note on 8-3-2024, some of the issues that could not be taken up for discussions during the negotiations were listed as residual issues for being pursued further.
