Looking to increasing health risk and alert on account of COVID19 and Corona virus and taking cognisance of Prime Minister’s broadcast to the nation tonight on this issue, and the need to stand with the people at large at this hour of national health threat scenario, and the panic and fear prevailing amongst the people, it is desirable to review our strike call and hence it has been decided to defer our proposed All India Bank Strike on 27th March, 2020. All our unions and members are requested to take note and maintain normalcy. All our agitational programmes are cancelled forthwith.

Bipartite Talks with IBA

News

Another round of bipartite talks was held today in Mumbai. IBA team was led by Shri Rajnish Kumar, (Chairman, SBI), Chairman of IBA. We were represented by all our constituent unions. Continuing the talks held on 5-12-2019, IBA Chairman narrated the general scenario in the banking sector and the constraints under which all of us were working, particularly in the Public Sector Banks. He pointed out that our demands for wage revision will have to be resolved keeping these constraints in mind to keep the competitive edge.

Transfer of RBIs Surplus to Govt. will endanger economic stability

It is surprising that when our country’s economy is already facing turbulence and serious slowdown, instead of taking measures that will boost the economy, efforts are being taken which will further precipitate the economic instability.
RBI was specifically created as an independent institution mandated with the responsibility of ensuing the stability in the economy besides monitoring external stability, monetary stability and money supply. RBI is a totally autonomous body and is not expected to be an extension counter of the Finance Ministry or the Government. It has very specific tasks to perform which should not be interfered with. But what is happening now is a matter of serious concern where the RBI is apparently forced to bow down to the wishes of the Government to release their funds to bridge the fiscal deficit of the Government.

Attention Is Invited to Head Office Circular No. CHO/PAS/05/201 1-2012 dated 21/01/2012 in respect of revision in the cost of uniform and cost of shoes for the members of subordinate staff was last circulated. In the meantime, there has been change in cost of inputs. Hence, keeping in view the rise in price of cloth and stitching charges, the Competent Authority has approved revision in the cost of uniform and liveries for subordinate staff as under:

2ND Day of August. Each year steers our memories to 2nd August 2008, when Com. Krishan Lal breathed his last after a prolonged illness. Com Krishan Lal, our mentor, guide, a personality that was an inspirer for every comrade till his last breath, cared for the bank employees in general and UCO Bank Comrades in particular. His joys and sorrows moved with the joys and sorrows of his fellow comrades.
