Comrades of Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Nagpur and Chattisgarh have made it to happen. The Financial Capital of India - Mumbai had felt the tremor in a big way, with the Success of the Strike in Mumbai Circle. We are overwhelmed...

We are overwhelmed by the reports that all branches - with the exception 39 branches out of total 241 - have come to a standstill as the enthusiastic and ever militant soldiers of our organisations, demonstrated their will, determination and fighting capacity through responding to the call of our Joint Action Committee for observance of ONE DAY STRIKE in the branches covered under Mumbai Circle office. In the states of Maharashtra and Chattisgarh & Part of MP, Uco Bank branches numbering 241 have come to a standstill due to today's Strike. The 39 branches that include Scale IV and above though were opened no transactions could take place. Treasury operations in Mumbai too was crippled while RTGS related transactions were to be shifted to Kolkatta. We place on record our deep sense of appreciation to all our rank and file who have befittingly manifested their anguish and resentment over the anti workforce approach and attitude of the Top Management responding to the call of STRIKE, mindless of sacrifices involved. We SALUTE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. In Mumbai the huge turnout of fighting Employees and Officers demonstrated before DN ROAD OFFICE. JOINT ACTION COMMITTEE PLACES ON RECORD ITS DEEP SENSE OF APPRECIATION TO THE ENTIRE RANK AND FILE FOR MAKING THE THIRD PHASE OF THE STRIKE CALL AN OVERWHELMING SUCCESS. WE ALSO THANK ALL THE BANKWISE UNIONS/ ASSOCIATIONS, STATE FEDERATIONS, THEIR LEADERS AND MEMBERS FOR EXTENDING SPIRITED SUPPORT TO OUR STRUGGLE.
Yesterday, at the repeated request of the Management, we met them and held informal discussions. We emphatically made our points that unless and until there is certainty about maintenance of sanctity of Bilateralism, cry a halt to attacks on bilateral understandings and guarantee about IMPLEMENTATION of understandings, discussions will not be meaningful and result oriented one. We also expressed that we are not averse to come back to the negotiating table but reconsideration of our agitational programmes would only depend on the sincerity that will be shown
by the management and the outcome of discussions thereof. Management expressed their anxiety to meet the Joint Action Committee and hold formal discussions to resolve the issues and informed us that they would communicate the schedule in a day or two. In the mean while, Comrades, let us prepare ourselves for the next phase of the Struggle.
